Zanjoe Marudo



Zanjoe Marudo is the newest heartthrob in Philippines after Sam Milby . This former
Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Edition housemate, Zanjoe managed to be part of the
BIG 4 with housemates Bianca Gonzalez , John Prats , and the Winner Keanna Reeves.

Born Zanjoe Acuesta Marudo on July 23, 1982, in Tanauan, Batangas, he is the
third of six siblings. He belongs to a middle class background, his father works
as a chef in New Jersey, his mother is a housewife in Philippines. A favourite
child, Zanjoe grew up idolizing his father who is also his best friend. However,
Zanjoe had to struggle to get through college due to lack of funds. He took
advantage of his height and became a basketball player at the varsity level.
In college, he enrolled for a course in IT at Mapua and allowed for his prowess
in basketball to pay his tuition fees.

Having won the first place in Bodyshots in 2001, Zanjoe entered the competitive
world of modelling. In 2006, he was touted as one of the Top 10 Bachelors by
Cosmopolitan magazine. He even posed for the Metro Calendar. Recently, he has
appeared in the Bench Fever Fashion Show. He was picked up by Bench top brass
Ben Chan to endorse the men’s underwear line by Bench. In Cosmo - September
2006 (Philippine issue), Zanjoe is one of the 10 Centrefold men in the "Cosmopolitan
69 Bachelors and 10 Centrefolds" supplement.

A wakeboarding sport freak, Zanjoe’s tryst with the television began with
the comedy series, ‘Aalog-Alog’ with the other Pinoy Big Brother:
Celebrity Edition housemates such as John Prats, winner Keanna Reeves, and the
Pinoy Big Brother runner-up Jason Gainza and received TV space on every Saturday.
He has also acted in the fantasy series ‘Super Inggo’ in the role
of Super Islaw pretty similar to the acting start of Richard Gomez who also
got his first movie break as a comic character Islaw.

Besides running a successful business in Bora, of Ice Monsters with Luke and
Martin Jickain, Zanjoe is a member of ABS-CBN’s exclusive circle of homegrown
talents aptly named as ‘Star Magic’.
