Victor Basa



Victor Basa first caught the public’s eye as a commercial and print model.
He then ventured into acting and is now part of Star Magic, the talent development
arm of ABS-CBN.

As part of Star Magic, Victor frequently makes guest appearances in noontime
variety shows like ASAP and other youth-oriented programs. In 2006, he became
a regular member of ASAP’s Coverboys, an all-male group of mostly model-turned-actors
who sings and dances and generally serves as eye candy to female viewers. Victor’s
co-members are Zanjoe Marudo , Jake Cuenca, Rafael Rosell, Will Devaughn, John
James Uy, Ron Morales, and Jon Avila.

Young audiences would remember Victor in his performances in four Star Magic
Presents series. He had recurring roles as Stick in Abt Ur Luv and Abt Ur Luv,
Ur Lyf 2 opposite Carla Humphries, who plays Brenda and Stick's girlfriend.
In 2006, he played the role of Lenard, the love interest of Angelica Panganiban
in an episode entitled Deal or No Deal. Belle, portrayed by Angelica, was a
poor lady while Lenard was a popular model. They struck a deal to pretend to
be in a serious relationship to fool Lenard's parents, but they eventually fell
for each other.

Victor was Miguel in Walang Kapalit, a 2007 ABS-CBN TV series top-billed by
Claudine Barretto , Piolo Pascual , Edu Manzano , and Dina Bonnevie . His character
was teamed up with Eda Nolan’s character, Vanessa Santillian, who happened
to be the sister-in-law of Claudine’s character Melanie. Miguel was also
the nephew of Ceding, portrayed by Amy Austria, who was Piolo's nanny and real

His other TV credits include supporting roles in Pedro Penduko at Ang Mga Engkantao,
Rounin, and Crazy for You. In Your Song: Without You, he portrayed a gay man
opposite Joross Gamboa. He is set to take part as a cast member of the TV series

His first major role in a film came in the form of a gay man in the movie Maling
Akala released in 2007. The romantic comedy was about deception and false pretenses.
Victor's co-star in the film was Jodi Sta. Maria. Jodi's character Tetta was
a department store salesgirl who got pregnant and was abandoned by the father
of her child. She then relied on sexually confused JB to act as her boyfriend.
The movie was one of the finalists of the 2007 Cinema One Originals Digital
Film Festival.

Victor has also taken part in a reality show. He was once a house mate in Pinoy
Big Brother Celebrity Edition 2 in 2007 and a video jock for MTV Philippines.
He also appeared in Nikki Gil 's music video for the song "Kasi Naman"
from the Hotsilog album in 2006. He graced the print and TV ads of Penshoppe,
Sunsilk, Greenwich, Tropicana, and Magicflakes. He won the Best Model Form in
MTV Fashionista 2004.

He was born on June 6, 1985, and is the nephew of fashion designer Paolo Basa.
He has a younger brother and older sister, plays ice hockey and air soft, skateboards
around Ortigas, and enjoys indie music.
